It was surely a busy June morning here at AST! First we had the meeting of The Scarlet Strippers, bright and early at 8:30 AM! Everyone was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as we gathered to share our quilts from last month and a preview of what we will be making in for July. Wait until you see it! The new quilt is gorgeous.
Since Karen was is on vacation, Angela (aka Fab-erella) stepped in to guide us through the making of the new quilt. She did a fabulous job. Truly.
This is Sandy's version of Twirling. Don't you just love the teal and yellow? This photo does not do it justice. It is really a beautiful quilt. Zippy and full of energy. Well done, Miss Sandy!
Jennifer shared her animal print quilt she made from one of our Bundle Paks. It's her own design, to boot! This quilt is going to her neighbor. I wish I had neighbors like that! Awesome, Jennifer!
I don't know why Sharon is hiding behind her quilt! It is really lovely and she should be proud of what she has made. Plus, she has the best smile and you're all missing out on seeing it.
Not only did Mary complete her stunning top, she had it quilted and bound for class today! Woot! You rock, Mary.
Some of our strippers getting deep into conversation. You just know it's about quilting!
And here is the quilt we will be making for June! Isn't it beautiful? The pattern is Star Crossed by Cozy Quilt Designs and the fabric line is Olivia by Red Rooster Fabrics. Yum.
After strip club was over, the classroom was rearranged for the One-Block Wonder class. Oh, I wish I had taken this one. The process of creating the blocks and the construction of the quilt are really easy-peasy! I'm such a wimp when it comes to things that are complicated that I shied away from it. What a silly girl!
This is the book that is used for the class. See why I thought it would be hard?
But it so isn't! These are Sherri's blocks. She made them from one fabric in Sandy Gervais' Frolic line. Only one- and look at the variety she got from that one piece. So cool!
The following blocks are from some of the other class participants. I think I'm in love.
Here, Mary is laying her block out to get just the right combination.
We have a little visitor at the shop these days. It's the Fabric Addict doll by Amy Bradley! She sits near Wendy's cutting table and inspires us to Buy More! How cute is she? And we have kits available so that you can make your very own.
Now, when your husband says to you, "Why do you have all of this fabric?" You can tell him it's the Fabric Addict doll's fault. And, he'll have to believe you. :)
