October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and, to show our support, we now have Northcott Fabric's beautiful Sophisticate line by Ro Gregg in both colorways! It is very feminine and romantic.
We built our display around the pink and gray version. Suzette made the aprons and the table toppers. They are absolutely gorgeous! (It makes my job so much easier when I have pretty things to work with.)
Doesn't this just make you think of Mom or Grandma?
Those are actual cookies (and eggs!) on the table. Oatmeal Scotchies to be exact. They were only there for the photo shoot though. You just can't leave cookies lying around a quilt shop now, can you? But, you can sign your own "cookie" and place it in our cookie jar in memory or support of a friend or loved one who has or is battling this terrible disease. We're hoping to fill the cookie jar!
You can be a part of the fun at AST by joining in our Breast Cancer Sew-in on October 29th, from 6-9PM. And, it's free! If you can't make it, you can purchase a 6 1/2-inch strip that will be cut and sewn into a block by someone in attendance. You'll still be a part of this worthy cause! We'll be making disappearing nine patch blocks, each with room for signatures. The quilt will then be raffled off at the Henry County Race for a Cure next spring.
We are very excited about this project an hope that you will be too. See you on the 29th!
