Just Lots of Really Good Stuff....

We've had some wonderful visitors at the shop lately! Especially those that have come to share their latest quilting projects. We love to see what they have made and how excited they are to share it with us.
Have you seen Sleep Under the Stars, our quilt from the Spring/Summer issue of Quilt Sampler magazine? Pat did and she gathered up some of her favorite red and white fabrics and made one as a gift!
It is beautiful.

Karen has been busy with her embroidery machine making quilts for her twin great-grandchildren!
Isn't this adorable? I love the stacked pandas. I think they are my favorite.

Gail made this extraordinary Fairy Land quilt from the pattern by Hatched in Africa. Such adorableness!
How can you look at this and not be happy?

Kris missed Strip Club so he popped in  to show off his X Factor quilt. Don't you love the contrast between his blocks and background fabrics? And the border sets it off perfectly!

Hey, here's Karen again with the other quilt! How sweet is that giraffe in the corner?

We also had a tiny visitor come and take over the man cave! She was such a cutie pie and so well behaved, I had to snap a shot of her watching Curious George! No football for this little one. :)

After and adventure in a Georgia rainstorm, our very special guest, Amy Bradley arrived to delight her fans!
This group of gals brought a quilt they had made using one of Amy's patterns for their guild. You can feel the anticipation...

It caused smiles all over!

It was such a treat to see this amazing quilt with the girl who designed the pattern!

Mary and Deanna smiling for the camera, with all eyes open. We love our customers here at AST.

Did you know that A Scarlet Thread is the home of Amy Bradley's biggest fan? It's our own Sherrie Curtis!
She had the chance to show off some of the quilts that she has made using Amy's patterns. (I even own one of them!) If you know Sherrie, you know what incredible work she does. Amy loved it all!

Together at last!

Thank you, Amy, for braving a storm and coming to spend time with us at A Scarlet Thread, signing autographs and sharing your sweet self with our customers, and your #1 fan. You rock!
Oh, and here's that cookie recipe I promised you. :)

Chocolate Sparkles

1 cup cocoa
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup confectioner's sugar

Sift dry ingredients together then add oil and eggs, one at a time. Beat with a wooden spoon or put in a stand mixer. (You will probably only use the wooden spoon method one time and then you'll go out and buy a stand mixer.) Once all of the dry ingredients are incorporated, chill dough overnight.
Roll chilled dough into 1 1/2 inch balls and roll in confectioner's sugar. Place on a greased cookie sheet, two inches apart, and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
