Goin' to School (House)

One of my favorite things about market is school house. Now, some of you might not think that attending classes from 10:30 in the morning until 6:00 at night is fun but, trust me, it is.
School house is where you get to listen to designers talk about what inspires them,

see new quilt designs,

new patterns (and revisit some classics),

learn about new products....

and see some just really cute stuff!

Don't you want to make a cute felt pom pom tree?

How about Christmas trees made from found objects like old stove burners and vintage sprinklers?

This is Dawn Farrier, owner of the Creation Station and the creative genius behind these projects and...

a rag strip Christmas tree that folds up into a suitcase for storage! This was awesome!

You feel the excitement that people have for their work, large

or small.

We came away with lots of great ideas for merchandising the shop, what the next generation of quilters will be making and what gadget you will want to have in your sewing rooms!
Want to get a bird's eye view of some of our favorites? Well, come to the AST Fall Market Review on Saturday, November 17 at 10:00 am! It'll be a mini market just for you, kind of like being there but without the aching feet. :)
