Holly Days Countdown!

Well, I tried to write a post for these photos this morning and Blogger would not allow me to. Happily, it is now fixed and I can tell you what you've been looking at all day!
It's the last weekend for the annual Holly Days event! A Scarlet Thread wraps it up in style with 4 different demonstrations for quick and cute Christmas gifts, a drawing for a $50 gift certificate for AST and a fabulous Cookie Bar! Seriously, the Diva Elves have been busy in the kitchen whipping up some fabulous Christmas  treats for you. everything from Buckeyes, to Snickerdoodles to an amazing soft, iced cookie made from---squash!! Yes, you read that correctly, a squash cookie, and they are delicious! Our customers have been asking for recipes, so I'll be posting them for you here on the blog.

One of our favorite Christmas lines is Timeless Treasure's Holiday Frost, a combination of red, white and silvery grey. There are kits available to make both quilts. My personal favorite is the appliqued ornament quilt, but they are both very pretty.

The Irish Chain has so many fab patterns to choose from. This little gem is called Tall Pines. What you can't see in the photo are all of the sparkly crystals that adorn this wall hanging. So, you'll just have to come see them in person!

Heartfelt Holidays is a great choice for those who prefer more traditional Christmas colors. Kits are available for this charming quilt

A Scarlet Thread has been highlighting local designers during Holly Days. These sweet appliqued pillows are by Suzette German. The pattern is free, this weekend only, with a $20 purchase!

Signs designate demo areas throughout the shop. Demo #2 is directed by our own Susan who will show just how easy it is to make quilt as you go place mats for those on your gift-giving list.

Little pops of Christmas are everywhere!

Woodland Trees, by Quilt Woman, is a great way to use the Tonga Treats Joy strips.

Cookie (aka Karen), our shop manager, created this darling Gypsy Pillow, shown in the top right corner, under the name Blue Mountain Quilts just for Holly Days. It goes together in a snap and would make a wonderful accent pillow. Patterns available for $2.50.

The Holly Bolt Series by madrekarin. Does that name sound familiar? Yep, it's me. These are a great way to use up those empty bolt inserts! Patterns and accessory kits are available.
 Patterns- $3.99 Accessory Kits- $4.99
We have plenty of empty bolts for you to make your own!

The Holly Jolly and 'Tis the Season Burlap wreath are a fun way to make someone happy. Each one can be made in an evening or two and require no sewing! Sometimes you just need to give your machine a rest.

The Elfin Tree, by madrekarin (so named because, when my granddaughter saw it she said, "Mins, it looks like Elf!) is your free pattern for attending AST's Holly Days event!

As you can see, it's been non-stop excitement! Tomorrow is the last day- start it off right with Strip Club at 8:30 am and then stay and visit with us! And maybe eat a cookie or two. ;)
