Just Curious.

We had a little conversation the other night about sewing and shoes, particularly if you are a shoe-wearing sewer or not.
The general consensus, from the three out of four that were sewing, was that they wear their shoes. All the time! Once they go on their feet, they do not come off.
Here's the proof:

Then there was this gal, who kicked off her shoes and drove her machine with her socks on! Rebel.

How do you sew? With shoes or socks? Or, are you like me.............

Bravely barefoot.

No shoes...have to be able to wrap my toes around that pedal!!! Barefoot or socks....doesn't matter...as long as i can curl those toes!!!

I would have to say that most of the time I am showing off the tootsies. My sewing time is after the kids are in bed, by then the shoes are long gone and it's time to be comfy :)

Definitely with shoes. The only time they come off is in the bed or in the bath - or very briefly to switch from shoes to slippers. Did I mention that my favorite tv show is Monk? ;=)

If the shoes have laces, they stay on; if the shoes are slip on, they come off -smile-.
As long as I'm in the studio, it doesn't really matter.

I don't sew; never would have even thought to ask about shoes, socks or barefoot. Fun post to read!

hiyall,
I sew barefooted! Always have, always will. I have been using a sewing machine since I was almost 11, mother taught me to 'feel' the motor of the machine thru the petal. the last time I wore shoes I almost stitch thru 2 fingers. never agin.

I have always wondered the very same thing.Because I cannot sew with shoes on I must be barefoot.I feel like I have better control of my machine.

Barefoot always...and I rarely use a foot. I use the Start/Stop button on my Babylock machines! LOL!!

I sew either way. But mainly I prefer barefooted.

I can't wear shoes... I can wear slippers if my tootsies get chilly, but 9 times out of 10 my sewing room is hot--so no shoes... H
